Accepting these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Stefánia Péter, the developer of Purrfolio (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Purrfolio apps, web app or website (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use Purrfolio.
The Service
Purrfolio is a personal finance tool that helps you record and organise your own income, expenses, accounts and planned payments, and view statistics and estimates based on that information. Purrfolio does not connect to banks, hold money, make payments, or provide any regulated financial service.
We are continually improving Purrfolio and may add, change or remove features at any time.
Your account
- Provide a valid email address and keep your password secure and confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@purrfolio.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One person per account — accounts are personal and non-transferable.
Not financial advice
Your content
You own the data you enter into Purrfolio (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of Your Content and will not use it for advertising.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to enter it, including any names you record (for example as a payer).
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
- attempt to access another user's data or bypass security or access controls;
- probe, scan, overload or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
- reverse engineer the apps except where permitted by law;
- use automated means to access the Service in a way that places unreasonable load on it.
Our intellectual property
The Purrfolio name, cat logo, design and software are protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service. Any source code we publish under an open-source licence is governed by that licence.
Free & paid features
Purrfolio's core features are free. Some features may be available only with a paid upgrade, either as a one-time purchase or as a subscription (“Paid Features”). The price, billing period and what's included are shown before you buy. Prices may include applicable taxes and can vary by country.
Purchases through the app stores
- Purchases in the mobile apps are processed by Google Play (or, where applicable, the Apple App Store) and are also subject to that store's terms. We never see or store your payment card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Google Play (or Apple ID) account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access to Paid Features until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- If a free trial is offered, it converts into a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
- Deleting your Purrfolio account or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription — please cancel it in the store as well.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, according to its refund policy, and as required by applicable law. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days; by starting to use a Paid Feature immediately, you request immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose this right once the digital content or service has been fully provided, to the extent permitted by law.
Price and feature changes
We may change prices or the features included in a paid plan. Price changes for existing subscriptions take effect only from the next billing period, and we (or the store) will notify you in advance where required, so you can cancel before the change applies. If we permanently discontinue a Paid Feature you have paid for, we will provide a pro-rata refund or comparable alternative where required by law.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (for example, for hosting and exchange rates). We are not responsible for third-party services or content, and their availability may affect the Service.
App Store & Google Play
If you downloaded Purrfolio from the Apple App Store, you also acknowledge and agree that:
- These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence to use the app is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer-protection or privacy claims.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual-property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.
If you downloaded Purrfolio from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to your download.
Termination
You can stop using Purrfolio and delete your account at any time — see Delete your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or put the Service or other users at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that data will never be lost — we recommend keeping your own records of important financial information.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or EUR 50.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Purrfolio after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
